There are a few simple guidelines for submitting your work.
1. It must be yours to offer.
2. I don't care if it has appeared elsewhere as long as you have the right to allow me to publish it. Don't get me into copyright trouble!
3. It may be about any topic and any reasonable length. I believe though that to properly develop an idea though, several paragraphs would be needed. On the other hand, I don't have the resources to publish your 100 page doctorate thesis!
4. I in no way take ownership of your work. You are free to instruct me to remove any submission at any time.
